Hosted by Kristen Keaney
Our spinal column, made up of 33 vertebrae, houses our spinal cord. Our spinal cord is an extension of our central nervous system. Pretty important! Not to mention each vertebrae is separated by discs which act as shock absorbers for the spine. Our spine is supported by a wide arrangement of muscles and ligaments that are often times too overworked or underdeveloped.
The good news is, with simple awareness and understanding of your posture, you can create a strong and healthy spine!
Join Kristen for our back care workshop designed to strengthen and lengthen the spine. According to the American Chiropractic Association back pain is the second most common reason for visiting the doctor, upper respiratory pain being number one.
We will cover:
A basic introduction of back anatomy & physiology.
The common causes of back pain. Yoga postures to strengthen support and soothe your back. Tools & tips on how to keep your spine healthy.
Kristen has trained with and continues her education with Elise Browning Miller, Senior Iyengar instructor & Yoga for Back Care educator.
You’ll leave with a sequence of gentle poses for a healthy home practice to reduce and/or prevent back pain.
*If you suffer from chronic pain due to back issues (i.e. Scoliosis, Kyphosis, Lordosis, Sciatica etc.) and would prefer one-on-one guidance please contact us directly at EastonYogaCenter@gmail.com
