Come to Easton Yoga Center for this informative and restorative workshop with Mary Walek!
Mary is well educated on various chronic pain conditions, suffering from fibromyalgia herself as well as providing care for family members and friends with arthritis, spinal stenosis and other pain conditions. Focusing on rest and self-care, Mary will guide you through a soothing class designed to bring your body, mind, and spirit to quiet healing alignment. Designed for both individuals with chronic pain as well as those that care for them, this two hour workshop will provide education and guidance on how to improve the quality of day to day life for someone suffering from chronic pain.
The workshop will begin with a brief discussion on common causes and symptoms of chronic pain as well as information on healthy habits to better manage symptoms. After the discussion, there will be an opportunity for intentional writing and meditation, followed by a gentle flow intended to release muscle tension and ease joint pain, before concluding with a nurturing restorative practice.
Restorative Yoga encourages a gentle opening of the body through the holding of supported poses. Students will use bolsters, blankets, and blocks to do this. These soft openings allow healing, harmony, and peace to manifest while simultaneously releasing tension in the body and mind. Hands on assists will be provided with consideration of students’ levels of pain and mobility.
Class will be set to soft rhythmic background music. Aromatherapy will also be provided.
