Special Events, Classes + Workshops
* Restorative Yoga: Introductory Level
Friday August 27 from 7-8:30pm
Cost: $10.00 Reservations are appreciated
A 'restorative' yoga practice is helpful for unwinding the mental and physical side effects of stress, anxiety and the over-scheduled life. Learn how to turn off- from your cell phones to your overly active mind- and tune in to the rhythms of your heart and your breath and create the time and space for deeper listening. This slow moving class uses props to support the body, as each pose is held for 3-5 minutes. Most poses are done while seated or lying down. Dress comfortably, bring water.
Retreats
* Mid-Summer Retreat Day
Friday August 27 from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Cost: $40.00 Vegetarian lunch is included RSVP is required
(* Please note: there is a handling fee of $2.50 when using PayPal)
During this day long retreat, there will be time for writing and reflection, as well as mixed-level asana practices, breath work, meditation and some time outside (weather permitting). This summer's theme- 'samskara'- invites us to to look at our habitual modes of 'doing', thinking and speaking. From there, we can look for places where shifts in behavior might facilitate and support positive change. Forward any questions to Liza via EYC email.
Going on a yoga retreat affords us the opportunity to step away from our daily habits and obligations. It can be a wonderful time to get to know our fellow yoga practitioners; it can also be a time for quiet self-reflection where we give ourselves permission to sink. It can also be a time to expand our yoga practice, explore our spiritual side, and nourish and deepen our affection for our bodies.
