LIZA KEOGH: Yoga Instructor and owner of the Easton Yoga Center

In Liza's classes, we spend time at the beginning of each session allowing ourselves to simply arrive and become attentive to our breath and general state-of-being. From there, class unfolds to include poses, breath work, and different approaches to meditation. Each class is different, although the Level One and Mixed Levels classes are composed of basic asanas (poses) in order to build the physical vocabulary of yoga into the student's body. We also take into consideration the time of year, the abilities and needs of the students, and what is most lively in Liza's present inquiries. Beginners are welcome at most classes; Levels 2 requires prior yoga experience.

Liza has found that over the years yoga has permeated most areas of her life.  Practicing yoga both on and off the mat has led to a deeper sense of comfort with her body, a greater compassion for herself and others, more patience for the challenges of parenting and personal relationships, and curiosity about the unknown.  Paying attention to the moment, listening deeply to the inner voices, and cultivating the capacity to sit with the easy times as well as the hard are just a few of the benefits of a regular yoga practice. Liza has practiced yoga since 1994, and began teaching in earnest in 2002. She has studied with a variety of teachers in different traditions and found her yoga mentor in the person of Barbara Benagh
